Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive aesthetic treatment that performs a deep exfoliation of the skin, eliminating and renewing the most superficial layers of the dermis. Its effects, therefore, are similar to those of superficial chemical ‘peels’, but its application is less aggressive.
In addition to eliminating impurities and dead cells, it stimulates cell regeneration and promotes the production of collagen and elastin, essential for keeping the skin firm and smooth. In this way, the application of the treatment makes the skin look more luminous and youthful.
Although there are different forms of microdermabrasion (even in cream format), the most common are those performed in beauty centers with aluminum microcrystals or diamond tips. To carry them out, a small instrument with different heads covered with diamond or aluminum tips is used. The machine activates these particles at high speed on the chosen area and sucks up the dead skin cells.
Microdermabrasion is performed mainly on the face (where it has the most benefits) but it also works for other areas of the body such as the back, décolleté, knees, elbows, hands and feet. Is used for:
